Glee Club receives fan mail from Poland
The following email was sent to the Glee Club web site following our concert in the Polish city of Lodz, on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.

Hi!
I'm still under impression of your tonight's performance! I've just come
back home after your concert in Lodz and I just can't help myself writing
to you to let you know that what comes out of your throats is simply
stunningly beautiful.

Me and my friend (she could also hear you today) sing
in a small church choir in Lodz (absolute amateurs of course), so we
realize how difficult it is to make a choir sound at all. And this, I
reckon, makes us look up to you even more than people without any
experience in this field.

The sound that you've created is virtually unbelievable for us. It's not only extremely powerful, but it can easily become gorgeously soft and silky (shivers down the spine followed by a tear in the eye) Not to mention the harmony, that your voices create (up to 8 voices simultanously, as I heard from one of the singers!)...

Apart from the brilliant technique and your skills in general, I think it's the repertoire itself that significantly contributes the overall effect. Practically all of the tunes were stunning. I suppose Ave Maria and the hebrew song were the most memorable ones for me personally, but, to be honest, there were no weak spots in your concert, really.

And here I come to the main point of my letter. We would be extremely grateful and honoured if you could send us some of your repertoire (sheet music), so that we would be able to try it with our own choir (preferably something relatively easy, but beautiful). Actually, I received a kind of a promise of such favour from one of the members of your choir, with whom we spoke right after the show. He gave me your website address and advised to ask for the notes through an
e-mail.

I thank you in advance and, first of all, thank you for a wonderful evening!
Marek

Marek - We thank you for your kind words! The men of the Glee Club had an excellent time in your city! We will forward your request for sheet music to our director. Thank you for helping to make our first performance in your country one for the "time capsule"!

Best regards,
The UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club
