Brothers Sing On in Central Iowa
The UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club performed their first concert in Clive, Iowa to a sold out audience, Saturday April 21st, 2007. Several alumni and friends of the Glee Club were in attendance. The guys then enjoyed their homestays with the congregation from Faith Lutheran Church.
Sunday morning the Club returned to Faith Lutheran Church and performed four sacred pieces during the 9:30 am service. The day continued with a performance at the First United Methodist Church in Perry, Iowa to another packed house. Les Hale Endowment Fund board members Scott Smith, Adam Riley and Matt Patterson presented gifts to the seniors. Three seniors were honored for their participation and dedication to the Glee Club since their freshman year. Adam Merkel, Neil Renkin, and Tyler Terpstra were given the coveted navy blue T-shirts representing the Senior Longevity Award. Dr. Barrett also took some good-natured ribbing during the end of year banquet. Throughout the year, Glee Club members collected memorable quotes and quips from Dr. Barrett, with Kevin Grieme and Cole Swanson taking the stage to perform their best rendition of the "Barrettisms", to the delight of all present. The club then boarded busses for Sioux City, a three hour ride by coach. The Glee Club performs concerts in Sioux City, Hartley and West Bend on the tour Monday. Eric Lindeen says Hi to his Mom.
