Spring Concert highlights an extraordinary semester

The UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club brought the crowd to their feet at the 2006 Spring Concert, Friday, April 21.
The concert was part of the UNI School of Music's "Spotlight Series".

The Glee Club, including the small group "Camarada", performed 20 songs from memory, including 2 pieces new to the Glee Club, "If Ye Love Me" and "Bridge Over Troubled Water".

In keeping with a long-standing tradition, the Glee Club presented a slide show of their first-ever tour of Ireland, Wales and England. This year's show, presented in PowerPoint on a large screen above the Great Hall stage, featured over 250 photos taken by Glee Club members and Alumni in Europe. Flags from Ireland, Wales, England and the United States hung from the mezzanine box seats, adding a festive air to the performance.

Dr. Brad Barrett, director of the Glee Club, later told the members of the group, "I just want you to know how proud I am of you and how honored I am to be your conductor. You have made such a huge impact on my life as a conductor and as a person....and for that I am grateful." Dr. Barrett said that he is already looking at repertoire for next year.

It was a fitting end to an extraordinary semester for the group.
