The Glee Club's 16th European Tour schedule has been announced.
May 12, 2010, Wednesday - Check in at the Chicago O'Hare International Airport for our overnight transatlantic flight to Italy.

May 13, Thursday - Upon arrival in Rome, we'll meet our tour manager and transfer to the waiting motorcoach for the drive into Rome. There will be time to walk around the Piazza Navona, and also an opportunity to see the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain before checking in at our hotel for a two-night stay. After time to freshen up, dinner is planned at the hotel.

May 14, Friday - This morning our guided tour of ancient Rome will feature visits to the Coliseum, the Roman Forum - the religious, political and commercial center of ancient Rome, and Palatine Hill. In the afternoon, we plan to visit Vatican City. While here, there will be an opportunity to visit both St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. For the first performance of the tour, participate in the 5:00 p.m. Mass in a side chapel at St. Peter's. If this option is not possible, we will arrange for participation in a Mass in one of Rome's other historic churches. Return to the hotel for dinner.

May 15, Saturday - Today we'll head north to Assisi, called the "city of birds" from the time of St. Francis. Our sightseeing will include St. Francis Basilica and St. Clara's Church. The Basilica of St. Francis is one of Italy's most impressive. We'll have time for independent lunch and then travel the short distance to Perugia, where we will check in at our hotel. Following dinner at the hotel, present an evening concert in Perugia, Assisi or one of the other towns in this area of Italy. The concert will take place in either a church or concert hall.

May 16, Sunday - Travel to the beautiful medieval city of Siena in the heart of Tuscany. The center of the city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Highlights include a stop at the Palazzo Publico (Public Palace) in the Piazza del Campo. The palace has served as Siena's town hall since the 1300s. Following time to enjoy this lovely city, continue on to Montecatini, a lovely spa town north of Florence. Check into the hotel for dinner and a two-night stay.

May 17, Monday - Today the choir will travel to the nearby town of Pisa. A walking tour will include a visit to the world-famous Campo dei Miracoli (Field of Miracles) with its unrivalled quartet of medieval masterpieces - Leaning Tower, Baptistery, Cathedral, and the Campo Santo cemetery. The tour finishes at Piazza dei Cavalieri, the central civic square of medieval Pisa. Return to Montecatini for a late afternoon or early evening concert performance in Montecatini. Concerts typically take place in one of the spa's concert halls or salons as part of their music programs - generally at 5:00 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.

May 18, Tuesday - First thing this morning, we will travel into Florence, a city of dazzling beauty. Our sightseeing will begin at the Galleria dell' Accademia, home of Michelangelo's David. Next we'll continue on to the magnificent Duomo where we will see the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Giotto's Campanile, and the Baptistery's world-famous "Gates of Paradise" doors. Then move on to the Piazza della Signoria, as well as the Palazzo Vecchio and the Loggia della Signoria to see Cellini's wonderful Perseus showing the head of Medusa. We'll walk across the famed Ponte Vecchio, a unique bridge, and take time to explore and do some shopping. Return to Montecatini for a late dinner.

May 19, Wednesday - After breakfast, we'll travel to Bologna, famous for its cuisine and its university, founded in 1088. Bologna is also known for its 22 miles of arcaded sidewalks, dating back to the Middle Ages. While here, there will be an opportunity to visit the Fontana del Nettuno (Neptune's Fountain), a monument to the god of the sea. Later, we'll continue on to Marocco di Mogliano, located outside of Venice, for dinner and a two-night stay.

May 20, Thursday - A full-day visit is planned to Venice today. The city is built on 120 islands connected by canals. Our sightseeing of Venice begins with a visit to St. Mark's Square, which opens on the Grand Canal. From here, we'll walk to St. Mark's Basilica for a tour and we'll also visit the Doges' Palace, once a symbol of Venetian power and glory. The afternoon is yours to explore on your own. The canals and streets of Venice make it a wonderful place to explore. Later we'll join together for dinner at a local restaurant before returning to our hotel in Marocco.

May 21, Friday - Transfer to the Venice Airport for return flights home.
