32nd Annual Variety Shows a 'great success'
The UNI Varsity Men's Glee Club Christmas Variety Shows, Dec 4 & 5, 2009, were deemed a great success.
The Glee Club part of the show featured 14 songs, including all of the traditional favorites, plus several new pieces. One new arrangement called "Christmas Soup" was a crowd favorite. One alum said, "The show was GREAT!!! We really enjoyed it this year ... The "Christmas Soup" arrangement REALLY impressed us, and the guys sounded wonderful!" UNI President Ben Allen and his wife Pat were on hand for the Friday night show. This was also the first Variety Show for the Glee Club's new director, Professor Fred Kiser. Not only was this Professor Kiser's first 'Christmas Variety Show' experience - it was also his debut as director of a men's choir. "I continue to be amazed at the dedication, the confidence, and the musical talent of this group of young men who, in rehearsal, often look like they're heading for a pick-up basketball game," said Kiser. The 33rd annual Christmas Variety Show is scheduled for December 3 and 4, 2010. |
